There are many free SE submission
sites -- here is one that is relatively easy to use, and best of all, it submits your site to many of the major search engines
at once. Then (as far as I understand it), the smaller search engines actually take their information from the larger ones:

MAJOR TIP:
I highly suggest that you set up an extra free email account (such as Yahoo, Hotmail, or other free
email service) to use for your email confirmation address when you do things like sign up for free
online advertising, free SE submission, and so forth -- RATHER THAN use your MAIN email account -- BECAUSE
(1) you mostly likely will be sent at least SOME confirmation emails which you must usually must
open and click a link inside to activate your request, and (2) you may get added to spam lists by signing
up for those free resources. That way, you can protect your main email account from getting clogged up with unwanted
email, and yet you can benefit from the many great, free resources that are available online.
From what I understand,
even if you don't submit your sites to search engines, eventually they all get indexed by the SE
spiders ANYWAY. However, submitting them may speed up the process at least a little bit....
Online Classifieds:
There are MANY places to submit classified ads online,
both free and paid.
Do a search on ANY search engine for "free online advertising"
or "online advertising" for more websites than you can handle!
Traffic Exchanges:
Another free online advertising resource is to use traffic
exchange websites -- also known as click and surf sites because, in trade for viewing the websites of
other members of the exchange, your own websites are shown to them.
Here are a couple of sites that I use, but you can use a
search engine to search for "traffic exchange" to find many other sites to choose from: TrafficSwarm and TopSurfer. Each one allows you to set up several of your own website links for the other
exchange members to view.
