Basics:
3-Way Calling
Instructions

These instructions work for a
"land line" (a regular phone, not cordless or a cell/mobile phone, although they may still be helpful).

Also, you need to have 3-way calling activated for your phone. (Check with your phone service provider for availability).

SHORT VERSION:

TO CONNECT to the 2nd Party:

1)  Push your Flash button once  -->  hear a stuttering dial tone that then becomes a regular dial tone.

2)  Dial your 2nd party's number  -->   listen for it to start ringing.

3)  Quickly push Flash again once to connect back to the 1st party (or group conference call).

TO END THE CONNECTION to the 2nd Party:

1)  Push Flash once to hang up.

2)  Push Flash once again to make sure you hear the stutter dial tone, indicating the connection is broken. (You want to be sure they cannot hear your continuing conversation!)

3)  Push Flash once again to get back to the 1st party (or group).

LONG VERSION:

To Make 3-Ways Calls During a group conference call (for instance, if you are on a conference line with several others in the first place):

Bookmark and Share

If you do not have 3-way calling available in your area, it IS possible to have a someone else who is with you on the conference call line (who DOES have it on THEIR phone) to dial the numbers FOR you -- and then YOU do the talking when the Prospect/2nd Party answers.

First, call into the conference line and join the group (or get on a line with just your 1st party).

To call an Prospect/2nd Party while participating on a conference call, do the following (the following is also the procedure you'd use to conduct any 3-way call, once you are on a single line with your 1st party):

TO CONNECT to the 2nd Party:

1)  Push your Flash button once  -->   hear a stuttering dial tone that then becomes a regular dial tone.

2)  Dial your 2nd party's number  -->   listen for it to start ringing.

3)  Quickly push Flash again once to connect back to the group conference call (or 1st party)  -->   say "Back" and someone else will respond so that you know you connected back to the group.

4)  Conduct your call while everyone else (or 1st party) is on mute or being VERY quiet (If you don't want your 2nd party to know anyone is listening).

NOTE on Introducing Prospects to Upline:
If your 3-way call is for the purpose of introducing one person to someone else, such as a prospect (or new member) to Upline...

Wait to Flash back to your prospect UNTIL you connect with your Upline and give a short explanation or introduction to help them understand what the call is about and a little about your prospect...

THEN push Flash again to get back to your prospect...

Introduce them to each other, then remain relatively quiet during their conversation unless asked to participate.

TO END THE CONNECTION to the 2nd Party:

1)  Push Flash once to hang up.

2)  Push Flash once again to make sure you hear the stutter dial tone. (This is to BE SURE you have hung up with the 2nd party, so they do not stay on the line and hear the continuing conversation -- this applies even if you have only left a message on their answering machine, too!)

3)  Push Flash once again to get back to the group (or 1st party).
